to participate in the Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search competition by first filling out a short entry form.
All participant(s) must enter as either a solo performer or a group. All performers/group members must be eligible for the contest in accordance with the eligibility criteria stated herein. Failure of any participant to meet the requirements may result in disqualification of the competition, at the sole discretion of the Producer. The member of the group who is appointed as the designated contact, will be responsible for fulfilling all submission requirements as stated herein.
There is no entry fee to enter the contest and submissions are accepted from adults who are at least 18 years of age, on or before September 28, 2020. All contestants must be amateur vocalists and may submit material in the realms of any genre of music. Professionals (union musicians or whose talent is a principle source of income) are not permitted to enter). Contestants may not belong to any professional organization(s) connected with the entertainment industry. You must be legally free to enter and compete in this event abiding by all laws. And you must be able to show proof of age upon our request.
Contestants may not wear anything considered offensive in their video. The Producer has the final say on the appropriateness of any costume worn or content performed. All rules and procedures are subject to change at the Producers’ sole and absolute discretion. In order to participate, you must complete fully, legibly, and truthfully all the forms required, some of which will be available on our website.
Contestants must be prepared to provide a link(s) to their creative work, which should be no longer than one minute (60 seconds) per link, via the submission portal on our website: www.BrooklynRising.com with the following layout and theme included:
Submissions may be made with or without accompanying music. Songs containing vulgar or explicit sexual lyrics will not be allowed. Songs performed must be appropriate for family entertainment. Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search and Producer reserve the right to disqualify any contestant whose performance, language, attire, or song does not meet family entertainment standards. Contestants who during their performance, use any obscene, offensive, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate behavior or gestures, including without limitation those referencing or depicting violence, nudity, or explicit activity, or which are not in the spirit of the competition, or do not meet standards for any reason, as determinedby Producer will be disqualified from the competition. Contestants MAY NOT utilize live props, or animals in their performance. Non-human props such as costumes and other accessories that are safe and family appropriate are permitted.
Once the competition window is closed, on October 31, 2020, at 12am EST, the Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search judges will began the reviewing process of all submissions, and ultimately decide on the ten (10) most entertaining acts who will go through to the semi-finals which be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
The Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search will utilize the likeness and image of all ten (10) finalists, meaning we will be posting images and videos to promote the competition on our social media platforms. The semi-finals will be set up as a live untelevised event, with judges at a private location. This segment will be filmed but not aired to the general public. And to keep in line with social distancing mandates, the production will consist of a small crew, the judges and the contestants. Everyone in attendance for this taping must bring and wear a mask unless otherwise instructed not to while performing or speaking on camera.
Each performer must arrive camera ready, meaning, be dressed and already in makeup and arrive ON TIME to be checked in by a Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search staff member. Failure to arrive by the designated time that will be provided to you in our email correspondence, will result in your disqualification from the competition. No exceptions for any reason.
No cameras and/or recording devices will be allowed in the venue other than those authorized by the Producer. After the taping is over, a designated photographer will be on hand to take professional photos of performers. Producer and sponsor will not be held liable for any loss or damage to any materials left at venue. Producer, sponsor and partners will not be liable for any theft, injuries, conflicts or any other problems arising from this event. Enter at your own risk. Any person that interferes with or harms or tampers with any contestant, technical crew member, judge, equipment, props, sets or any other person associated with the production of Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search will be immediately disqualified from competition, escorted from the premises and any legal action determined to be appropriate will be taken.
There will be 3 (three) chosen acts from the semi-finals contest who will receive an email within 48 hours of their last performance, of which will explain the process for continuing with the next phase of the competition. The judges’ decisions are final and is not subject to review, debate, or dispute. If you are among the 3 (three) finalists chosen, this means that you have made it to the Virtual Talent Contest, and MUST email your confirmation and acceptance back to the Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search contact who sent you the correspondence, via info@BrooklynRising.com , by no later than midnight, Monday November 16, 2020. Failure to confirm by this date will result in permanent elimination from the contest.
The Virtual Talent Contest is the final phase of the Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Show where we will present the 3 (three) finalists to the public via social media LIVES for the fans and followers to vote on the WINNER. All participants must be ready to perform their act in full on various social media platforms.
The prize for the winner is:
No member of the act can be related by birth, marriage, or have any on-going business relationship with any of the judges. You must not be a candidate for public office and must agree not to become a candidate for public office until one (1) year after the initial broadcast or other exhibition of the final episode of the Program in which you appear, if selected as a participant. You must be willing to voluntarily submit to and complete a background check, in accordance with applicable laws, and execute all documents required by Producer in connection with such background check. You must be willing to travel at your own expense, if necessary, to audition or be interviewed on dates provided and scheduled by the Producer at a location in New York City. Producer reserves the right to change the number or the identity of the foregoing locations at any time. All travel expenses for the audition and/or interview will be the applicant’s sole expense.
To audition, you must complete and return the Participant Agreement, Release and Arbitration Provision and all exhibits, schedules and attachments thereto that will be furnished to you by the Producer and will include, among other things, release forms and waivers for review and signature by you and/or your family members. Additionally, any offer to become a participant may be conditioned upon your submission to examinations to be conducted in New York City by medical professionals selected by and paid for by the Producer and the certification of the medical professionals that you meet all physical and psychological requirements. Pre-approved economy travel (round-trip to and from the location, and your home in the United States) and lodging to be provided and paid for by Producer. If you are selected as a participant, you must be willing to travel to and reside at one or more undisclosed locations in the United States for several days at any time in 2020 as provided by and scheduled by Producer. Economy travel to be paid for by Producer.
You may not participate in the Program if your participation would create impropriety or the appearance of impropriety. In making this determination, Producer and any television network that is broadcasting the Program will consider whether you nor any of your immediate family members or anyone living in your household may be or have been within the past two (2) years employees, officers, directors or agents of any of the following: (a) Producer, GFNTV or any entity owned or controlled by or affiliated with the foregoing or any television network broadcasting the Program, or any of their respective direct or indirect parent, subsidiary, affiliated or related entities; (b) any person or entity involved in the development, production, distribution or other exploitation of the Program or any variation thereof; (c) any sponsor of the Program or its advertising agency; or (d) any person or entity supplying goods, services or prizes to the Program. In addition, Producer reserves the right to render ineligible any person that Producer determines, in its sole discretion, is sufficiently connected with the production, administration, judging, or distribution of the Program such that his or her participation in the Program could create the appearance of impropriety. The foregoing eligibility requirements may be amended, revised or changed at any time and in any fashion in Producers’ sole discretion.
We reserve the right to disqualify and/or exclude, in our sole and absolute discretion, any individual from these auditions for any reason or for no reason at all, including without limitation, violation of any portion of these rules, tampering with the entry process or the audition process. We also reserve the right to change the rules and procedures at any time without prior notice. Being chosen to audition and/or compete at any level in the process does NOT ensure that you will be selected to continue to the next stage.
By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decision of the Producer and the panel of judges, which shall be final and binding. Your presence at the auditions, and the presence of your friends, family members, and anyone else accompanying you, constitutes your and their consent and agreement to the recording and use of your performance, appearance, name, voice, singing voice, likeness and any musical or sound effects produced by you and/or them for use in connection with any television program, motion picture, wireless/mobile device, or the Internet for all purposes (including advertising, marketing, promotion, merchandising and the exploitation of any and all ancillary and subsidiary rights), as the same may be edited, in all media now known and hereafter created, throughout the universe, in perpetuity and for no compensation.
IF YOU AND/OR YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY MEMBERS, OR ANYONE ELSE ACCOMPANYING YOU TO THE VENUE FOR ANY PART OF the BROOKLYN RISING STAR TALENT SEARCH, DO NOT WISH TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED, OR DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND AND DO NOT ENTER THE VENUE.
Your attendance will for any part of the BROOKLYN RISING STAR TALENT SEARCH competition, be conclusively deemed a waiver of any and all claims for invasion of privacy, defamation, etc. All laws of the State of New York apply.
The Sponsor, Venue, Producer, its partners, employees, volunteers or people working the auditions, rehearsals and show or any event, media distribution or anything other in connection with the Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search, are not responsible for and shall not be liable for:
NO WEAPONS, ALCOHOL, NON-PRESCRIPTION DRUGS, SMOKING OR CHEWING GUM WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE VENUE DURING ANY PART OF THIS EVENT. NO FOOD OF ANY KIND, UNLESS PRECLEARED AND FOR MEDICAL PURPOSES, IS PERMITTED IN THE VENUE.
By entering the competition, you agree:
You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any defamatory, libelous, obscene, pornographic, profane, threatening, material that is unlawful or that constitutes or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense or give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law that is in any way connected with this contest.
The prize is subject to restrictions and to the terms of the provider as applicable. The promoter or Producer may vary any element of the prize. Where applicable, it is the responsibility of the winner to ensure that they and anyone else involved are available for any further dates with connection to any requests to enhance the prize value or appear in any promotional efforts without compensation. The prize is non-transferable. The Sponsor is not liable for any costs, liabilities, damages, losses, or medical conditions aggravated or incurred by the competitors, winner, and/or their companion. The Producer reserves all rights to utilize the name, likeness, and recordings in any medium for the purposes of promoting the event and the support of Brooklyn Rising Star Talent Search brand without any claim for compensation in any form. The above information, rules, requirements, and conditions are to be interpreted and applied in the accordance with their essence and within the laws of the State of New York. The Producer and the judges’ decisions are final.
